Evenings Porch Assisted Living is a warm, welcoming, and active senior community in Bayfield, Colorado. Our small, 16-bed home offers a very personal approach to care, with primarily organic meals, therapeutic activities, and caregivers who feel like extended family.
Our philosophy
Evenings Porch is where independence and quality of life are nurtured and respected.
We understand that the loss of independence can sometimes be a powerful blow, and the decision to transition to assisted living can be difficult for individuals and families. We also know that life in assisted living can be happy and fulfilling, and we work diligently to make sure our residents have every opportunity to enjoy a home-like atmosphere where they feel nurtured and respected.
Our founder, Lee McCutchen, experienced life in assisted living firsthand after surviving a major car accident. That experience shaped every aspect of life at Evenings Porch.

A caring and committed staff
The staff at Evenings Porch is a special group. The people who work with our residents are genuinely engaged with the people who live here. They let residents know there is always someone available to assist them, to listen to them, and to truly hear their needs and concerns.
We are committed to hiring the best quality staff, and we treat them well. By paying a living wage, providing regular training, and offering opportunity for advancement, we work to keep caregivers with us for the long term, because when caregivers are consistent, residents feel more comfortable and confident in their surroundings.
Our story
Built by a founder who has lived here, too
Lee McCutchen opened Evenings Porch in 2014 so his mother would have a place to receive the best possible care. After a serious car accident in 2015, Lee became a resident himself. Living here the way our residents do shaped everything: primarily organic meals, vegetables from our own garden, nature photography on the walls, and surroundings that feel like home instead of an institution.
